How I nearly lost my family to my job, and why you need to pay attention!

Last time you read my story. Now let me introduce you to Carolyn Dawson, co-founder of RECIPRO, and let her tell you how she began creating her own success.

"Having recently been promoted to senior manager I was doing everything I could to prove to myself and others that I was the best person for the job. Working long hours, facing resistance from guys twice my age, being way out of my comfort zone and trying to please everyone, I was exhausted, frustrated and anxious. I had a great job, earning great money and was on my way up the career ladder. Yet why didn’t I feel successful?

Then one day my husband said he was leaving. That was the day my world turned upside down. In the weeks that followed, I fell apart, and realised that I’d forgotten what matters most to me - my family. It took months, years, if I’m being completely honest, to rebuild my life and get myself back on track. But I did. Now I do work that I love, doing what I do best with people I love working with, and more importantly, I’m happily married to the man I love (yes, we got back together!).

So I was compelled to co-create RECIPRO, to inspire and nurture women, to wake them up to what really matters and help them define what success looks like for them (before they reach crisis point).

It’s inspiring to see women open their eyes to who they are and where they are in their career and life and empowering them to create the life they want. Sharing the pitfalls and success strategies with them, and enabling them to take responsibility for creating their own unique version of success, is how RECIPRO makes a real difference."
